Hi! I am Samantha Kline and I was crowned your 2017 Miss Thunder Mountain Pro Rodeo this past July. I am the 22 year old daughter of Keith and Tina Kline of Longview. I was born and raised in Longview and graduated from Mark Morris High School in 2012.
I then went on to continue my education at Oregon State University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Service Systems Management in September 2016. I have been riding horses basically since before I could walk, if you know my family, you’ll understand!
I have competed all over the Northwest in Breed and Open Horse Shows and 4-H where I won numerous county and state titles. I also competed in the Washington State High School Equestrian Team for Castle Rock, where I went to state all 4 years. Through the equestrian team, I won a total of 7 State Medals and 13 District Medals.
I didn’t stop competing when I left for college, as I rode for OSU’s Intercollegiate Horse Show Team in Western Horsemanship. In my senior year at Oregon State I traveled to Lexington, Kentucky and competed at ISHA National as OSU’s Advanced Horsemanship Rider on their Western Team, we finished 4th in the country!
This year on the road at rodeos, parades and also around the community you will see me with my newest partner in crime, my 14 year old Buckskin Gelding, Diego. He is my newest horse because I have only been riding him 6 years, as I retired my amazing horse I rode in my youth career in 2012. Calvin is now enjoying retirement at my parent’s at the age of 22.
I hope to see you on the road this year as I represent the Thunder Mountain Pro Rodeo and I invite you to join me for the Cowlitz County Fair, July 26th - 29th,  and Thunder Mountain Pro Rodeo July 27th - 29th!
